Blown out of proportion: Yuvraj in storm over call for donation to Afridi charity
NEW DELHI: Social media post seeks donations for Pakistani cricket player Shahid Afridi of charity that triggers a storm, former Indian off-roader Yuvraj Singh on Wednesday he said he never intended to hurt anyone and his request for help has been disproportionate.
Yuvraj, along with his former teammate Harbhajan Singh I had published Twitter messages asking for donations to the Afridi charity foundation to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
The messages sparked an avalanche of criticism from social media users in India, given the icy political ties between the two countries.
I really don't understand how a message to help the most vulnerable is disproportionate! All I tried to accomplish through that message was that to help people in our respective countries by providing medical care, my intention was not to hurt anyone's feelings, Yuvraj tweeted on Wednesday.

Afridi thanked Yuvraj and Harbhajan for supporting their charity initiative.
Hundreds of people in India and Pakistan they have been infected by the deadly coronaviurs, which have killed more than 45,000 people worldwide.
In India, the death toll has risen past 40, while the number of dead has been placed at 26 in Pakistan .
