Center bans the export of anti-malaria drugs

NEW DELHI: The Center placed on the banned exports list on Wednesday to prevent an avalanche of shipments out of the country after the US president. USA Suggest that fighting malaria could help fight Covid-19.

In a notification on Wednesday, the Directorate General for Foreign Trade (DGFT) has included hydroxychloroquine and the formulations made from it on the prohibited list. The drug joins fans, disinfectants, and face masks in a list of items whose exports have been banned.

However, there are some exceptions. For example, exports from special economic zones and export-oriented units will be allowed, as well as to comply with the export obligation under the license scheme. Shipments will also be permitted if an irrevocable letter of credit was issued prior to notification or if full advance payment has been received.
