Nine more positive but 12 cured cases of coronavirus in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After days of tension, the state breathed a sigh of relief with 12 of the reported total number of positive people in the state declared to be fully healed. Along with the three returnees who were healed before, nine more people have been healed now, the prime minister said.

On Wednesday, nine more positive cases were reported from the state, bringing the total number of positive cases admitted to various hospitals to 112. Of these (112) six people will be discharged as soon as they have been negative on Wednesday.

The total number of positive cases reported in the state after the Wuhan incident is 118. Of these, 91 people have come from different foreign countries and eight people are foreigners. 19 people have tested positive since coming into direct contact with other positive patients.

Of the nine positive cases reported Wednesday, three are out of two, each from Palakkad and Pathanamthitta, and one from each and Kozhikode. Among this, four people have come from Dubai , one from the UK, one from France and three others obtained this from direct contacts.

Currently, 76,542 people in the state are under observation, of which 532 people are isolated in the designated wards of various hospitals. Of the 4,902 samples sent for testing, 3,465 came back negative, the prime minister said after the rapid response team review meeting.
