Coronavirus scare: do not visit Tirupati temple, TTD tells foreigners and NRIs
AMARAVATI: Amid new cases reported in parts of the country, the one who administers the hill sanctuary has issued a notice asking foreigners, NRI and others not to visit the temple for 28 days after landing in the country.
The (TTD) issued the notice Tuesday night as a precautionary measure to control the spread of the coronavirus.
A TTD statement here said the temple administration has been taking all measures to protect the health of the lakhs of pilgrims visiting the temple .
Andhra has not reported a positive case of Covid-19 so far
According to a bulletin from the state control room, 465 passengers from countries affected by Covid-19 have been identified and placed under surveillance.
Andhra Pradesh health authorities on Tuesday advised the self-isolation of 75 people who returned from Italy since February 29.
Up to 232 people are under home isolation and 226 people have completed the 28-day observation period. Seven people are in the hospital and their condition is stable.
So far, the authorities have collected 35 samples, of which 33 showed negative results while waiting for the remaining two.
