Scindia betrayed people's trust and ideology: Ashok Gehlot

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday accused Jyotiraditya Scindia of betraying people's trust and ideology, saying that people like him cannot prosper without power and the sooner they leave, the better it will be.

Hitting Scindia shortly after he resigned, Gehlot said joining hands with the BJP at the time of the national crisis talked a lot about his self-pleasing political ambitions.

Mr. Scindia has betrayed people's trust as well as ideology. These people show that they cannot prosper without power. The sooner they get better, he said on Twitter.

Joining hands with the BJP in a time of national crisis says a lot about the self-complacent political ambitions of a leader, especially when the BJP is ruining the economy, democratic institutions, the social fabric and also the judiciary, he said.

Gehlot landed in Delhi on Monday night to make last minute efforts to save the congressional government.
