Jamia organizes a conference on the changing landscape of teacher training

As part of the centenary celebrations in the process of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Department of Educational Studies, Faculty of Education from the university, organized a two-day international conference on the theme, Changing Landscape of Teacher Education . Around 180 participants from 14 countries attended the conference . The chief guest at the inaugural session Prof JS Rajput, former Director, NCERT, and former Chairperson, NCTE, emphasised on character building, which resonated well with the audience. The keynote address was delivered by Itumeleng I Setlhodi, College of Education , School of Educational Studies, South Africa, who dwelled upon the challenges one faces in the field of teacher education and suggested more effective practices in the area. Prof Najma Akhtar, Vice-Chancellor, JMI, appreciated the efforts of the department for organising the international conference .
