South African squad arrives in India

NEW DELHI: The South African ODI team arrived here Monday for a three-game series against India starting March 12 in Dharamsala.

The 16-member team will fly to the city from the hill on Monday, while the Indian squad will arrive at the site on Tuesday.

Centrally hired Indian players will undergo a series of medical tests at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore to determine their fitness and assess the workload.

The visiting team is accompanied by the Medical Director of Cricket South Africa, Dr. Shuaib Manjra, due to the new prevailing threat of coronavirus.

India has registered 39 cases so far, while the number of infected has gone beyond a lakh internationally.

The second and third ODI of the series will be played in Lucknow (March 15) and Kolkata (March 18).
