Rajasthan Royals has the potential to win the IPL title this year, says Zubin Bharucha
NAGPUR: First a better human being, then a better Cricket player and then a better Royal. This has been the mantra of Rajasthan Royals since the first season of the Indian Premier League (IPL)
They do not care about the results. All they want is to help their players become better human beings and quality cricketers. “If the first two important things dominate, then he would automatically be a better real. Our focus is always on the overall development of our players. The rest will only continue Zubin Bharucha I told TOI on Sunday.
The Rajasthan Royals director of Cricket is overseeing the IPL preparatory camp in the Royal Sports Institute in Talegaon , about 100 kms from here.
“The ultimate goal of Royals is to provide feeder line for the national team. We have given so many Cricket ers to the Indian team. Ravindra Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane, Varun Aaron and Jaydev Unadkat are some of our players who went on to play a bigger role for the country. We would like to see more RR players donning the national camp in the future,” said Bharucha.
He said they had their first camp in Guwahati and now hold a second more intense training session as they continue their preparations for the 13th edition of the IPL. The camp began on March 2 and will end in a couple of days.
“The Nagpur camp is a great opportunity for us to use our internal facilities and receive intense training. With the IPL approaching, our goal is to be ready for the game and cover all aspects of our game through this camp. We have an exciting talent and eager to go, ”said Bharucha.
The former Mumbai Cricket er is optimistic about Rajasthan Royals ’ chances in the upcoming IPL. They want to make amends for the last year’s disappointment.
“It is incorrect to say that we did not have the best of the season last year. If we had won the last league match, we would have qualified for the play-offs.
Luck did not favor us. We have a very balanced side with the right combination of youth and experience this year. We should do well and go to the end, ”said Bharucha.
The 50-year-old man praised the facilities on the newly developed site in Talegaon. “Even in such a small town, the infrastructure made by Romi Bhinder is impressive. A large plot with a lush green field and quality fields make it a perfect place for our preparation camp. We will have regular camps here and we will make the best use of this place, ”said Bharucha.
The head of Cricket at RR, Bharucha is banking on young and exciting players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Kartik Tyagi and Shashank Singh.
“Yashasvi has been in dream form this season. We are just hoping he will extend his purple patch. Besides him, we are also hopeful of having extraordinary performances by Riyan, Kartik and Shashank. They have great potential and ready to fire. Actually the new generation of players is very talented and street smart. It augurs well for the future of Indian Cricket . I believe we will dominate all forms of world Cricket in the next five years,” said Bharucha.
