SURAT: A student of commerce of class XII suffered serious injuries after falling from the third floor of her residence in the Pandesara area of ​​the city on Saturday. The 18-year-old girl had complained of poor performance in the role of accounting, which led police to suspect that it might not be a simple case of accidental fall.

Family members told police that the girl had gone to study on the upper floor of the house. However, they heard a loud noise of something falling to the ground with a thud. They ran away just to be surprised to see the girl lying on the floor. She was immediately transferred to the SMIMER hospital where she is under treatment.

Police said the girl suffered serious injuries to her body, but is out of danger. Family members told police it could be an accident, although they also said she was upset due to her poor test performance.

The girl, who expressed her fear of getting less grades in that newspaper, had become depressed every time she returned home from school on Friday, police were told.

Police have begun an investigation to find out if the girl accidentally fell or was a suicide attempt. The police will record the girl's statement once her health improves.
