SSP Chawrasia shoots 69, enters the top 10 in Qatar
DOHA: Indian golfer SSP Chawrasia added a 69 of three below to reach nine below and within the top 10 after 54 holes in 2020 Qatar Masters Saturday tournament
Chawrasia, who shot 67-69 in the first two days, had four birdies in the front and one more in the back and a bogey on each side.
For the third consecutive day, Chawrasia, four times winner in the European Circuit, bogeyeó the ninth. He also drove Par-15 15 in the middle of a final seven-hole stretch in which the other six holes were even.
Chawrasia had scored a 67 in the final round last week at the Oman Open and has now fired four successive rounds in the 60s and another good one could see him have a solid finish.
The Indian, who twice touched double figures below the pair, is still five behind the leader. Jorge Campillo who loaded a third round 67 to take advantage of a shot on the last day.
The Spaniard began collecting five shots in six holes around the curve to advance three. However, a couple of bogeys in the last nine in the rising wind meant that they came home at the even level for a total of 14 below, only one free from Scot David Drysdale and Dane Jeff Winther.
Drysdale was ghost-free in a 64, while Winther also made seven birdies with a single shot in a 65.
Dane Benjamin Poke was 12 years old, a free kick by Swede Alexander Bjork and the Spaniard Pablo Larrazabal .
Larrazabal made two eagles and six birdies to match the lowest round of the week, and the record for the incipient course, with a 63, while Bjork made three birdies and a bogey in a 69.
