Tamil Nadu reports the first case of Covid-19; test man + go to his return from Oman

CHENNAI: A 45-year-old man who returned to Chennai from Oman He tested positive for him in Pune on Saturday. The patient, who is the first to be confirmed of the viral infection in the state, is admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital. His state of health is stable and currently shows no symptoms, said the doctors who treated him.

State health minister tweeted that a Covid-19 positive “for 45Y male who travelled from Oman . Due to d stringent screening process, we identified & isolated the Pt for further treatment @ RGGH Chennai. Pt is stable &under hospital observation,#TNHealth is fully functional to combat d situation. Pls avoid state of panic (sic).”

The directorate of said the patient, who is employed in a construction company in Muscat arrived from Oman on February 27. He did not show any symptoms such as fever on the day of arrival at the Chennai Airport. “His family has been advised home quarantine. We have drawn samples from them for test. We are also tracking patients with low risk,” he said.
