NIA arrests two more people in the case of Pulwama attack

SRINAGAR: Two more people, including the one who acquired chemicals online to manufacture the FDI used in the attack, were arrested for the case in the case on Friday, an official said.

The number of people arrested in the case is now five.

Previously, a father and daughter duo and a close assistant to the suicide bomber were arrested in two separate operations.

During the initial interrogation, Islam revealed that it used its Amazon online shopping account to acquire chemicals to manufacture FDI (improvised explosive devices), batteries and other accessories at the addresses of Pakistani terrorists Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), said the official. .

He said that Islam personally delivered the articles to the JeM terrorists after obtaining the online incriminating material from the delivery portal as part of the conspiracy to carry out the Pulwama attack.

“Rather, he is an old field worker (OGW) of the JeM. He has revealed that he gave refuge in his house to Jaish terrorist and FDI expert Mohd Umar after arriving in Kashmir in April-May 2018, ”said the official.

Rather, it also harbored JeM terrorists, suicide bomber Adil Ahmad Dar, Sameer Ahmed Dar and Kamran, Pakistani, at his home several times in the period prior to Pulwama's attack, he said.

It also provided a safe haven for JeM terrorists, including Adil, at the house of the defendant Tariq Ahmed Shah and his daughter Insha Jan de Hakripora, who were arrested on March 3, the official said.

He said Islam and Rather will be presented to the NIA special court in Jammu on Saturday, while the investigation of the case continues.

The NIA took over the case to investigate the conspiracy behind the February 14, 2019 attack in Pulwama.

Adil's last video, which was released by JeM from Pakistan after the terrorist attack, was filmed at Tariq Ahmed Shah's residence. On February 28, the NIA made great progress in the case when it arrested Shakir Bashir Magrey, 22, owner of a furniture store and resident of Hajibal in Kakapora of Pulwama.

Magrey had provided shelter and other logistical assistance to the suicide bomber Adil. He was introduced to Adil in mid-2018 by Pakistani terrorist Mohammad Umar Farooq and became a full-time OGW of the JeM.

The explosives used in the attack were determined by a forensic probe such as ammonium nitrate, nitroglycerin and RDX. During the investigation of the attack, the identity of the suicide bomber as Adil Ahmad Dar was confirmed through a DNA that matches that of his father.

It has been discovered that the other key terrorists involved in the attack are JeM divisional commander in South Kashmir, Muddasir Ahmad Khan, killed in an operation by security forces on March 11 of last year; Pakistani terrorists Muhammad Umar Farooq and FDI expert Kamran, both killed on March 29 last year; car owner Sajjad Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Anantnag who was killed on June 16 last year; and Qari Yassir, JeM commander for Kashmir who was killed on January 25 of this year.
