Redeem, Chothe to join FC Goa
Panaji: FC Goa We have already started planning next season with Redeem Tlang (NorthEast United FC) and Makan Winkle Chothe (Punjab FC) among the new signings.
FC Goa are certain to lose a few domestic players to other clubs as negotiations are now in the final stages. The Indian Super League ( ISL ) Toppers do not want to be found wanting and have prepared for the exit with new signings.
Redeem, who performed well with NorthEast United this season, was the first to agree on a change to Goa, despite the fact that at least two other clubs were looking for his signature. It could be an option for the new coach in the wing and his three goals with NEUFC suggest that he does not hesitate to have a shy goal.
However, the most exciting perspective is Chothe. Only 19 years, and now a regular with the Punjab FC in the I-League , the young Manipur striker has won many fans at the youth level and is now also beginning to show promise at the senior level.
This season, he has already started 14 of the 15 games for Punjab FC and has been instrumental in guiding them to second place and has also been among the goals. NorthEast United was among the many clubs that were interested in having it on their lists, but the brilliant prospect has been convinced that Goa is the best place to advance in his career.
“We have a long-term contract with Chothe. We have all seen what he has done at the youth level and has continued in the same way with older adults. It's an exciting prospect, ”said a club official.
Chothe showed what he is capable of when he scored the match-winner against FC Goa in the Elite League 2018-19 semifinals at Nagoa ground. He also scored the opening goal in the final as Minerva Punjab coasted to victory. He also made five appearances for Minerva Punjab in the AFC Cup last season.
There will be more national signings, including a Goa Pro League defender.
