Ram Lalla darshan, bid on new site since March 25
AYODHYA: As of March 25, the first day of Navaratra, puja and darshan will take place at a new site 150 meters from the current location at the Ramjanmabhoomi facilities. Until the sanctum sanctorum is built, the idol will remain in the temporary bulletproof enclosure.
This will be for the first time in 28 years that Ram Lalla's puja and darshan will be held at a site away from sanctum sanctorum.
Champat Rai, the secretary of Shri Teerth Kshetra, said Ram Lalla's idol will be moved to the new site before March 25.
Devotees will have to walk half a kilometer less on Ram Lalla's darshan at the new site, Rai said. At present, devotees have to cover a distance of about 1 km for the darshan.
The date for the construction of the Ram temple will be decided at the next meeting of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, president of the temple construction panel, told the agencies.
Meanwhile, the two-day Ram temple trust meeting scheduled for March 3 and 4 has been postponed. Now it will take place after Holi.
“This was an important meeting as important decisions were made, including the dates of various activities at the Ramjanmabhoomi facilities and other businesses related to the construction of the Ram temple. Now, the meeting has been rescheduled after Holi, ”Dr. Anil Mishra, a member of the Ram temple trust, told TOI.
