The body of Maharashtra ruled by BJP takes a step against CAA

AURANGABAD: The municipal council of Selu, governed by BJP, in Maharashtra, unanimously approved a resolution against the implementation of the Law on Citizenship Amendment () and the National Registry of Citizens (NRC).

The president of the council, Vinod Borade, said Monday that he has 27, including three co-opted members.

The resolution was passed by a majority without opposition on February 28, he said. He said that local public public representatives were also in favor of such a movement.

Borade said he had called a meeting two days before the resolution was passed, as required by members of the PNC, Congress and seven councilors of the Muslim community.
