Assam will likely issue NRC rejection ballots starting March 20
GUWAHATI: Plans to begin issuing the Rejection of rejection of more than 19 lakh people excluded from the NRC as of March 20, the Assam government said Monday. The Slip will mention the reasons for excluding a person's name from the final NRC.
Currently, work related to the scanning of the order of speech is ongoing and about 12 percent of work remains, said the Minister of Affairs while responding to a written inquiry from the MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed Congress.
After this work is completed, there is a plan to issue the rejection receipt of 03/20/2020, Patowary said on behalf of CM Sarbananda Sonowal who also owns the Portfolio Implementation.
In a separate consultation with MLA Congressman Abul Kalam Rasheed Alam, Patowary said a total of Rs 1,348.13 has been allocated for the NRC update work.
The final NRC was published on August 31 of last year, excluding 19.06,657 people. Before publishing the final NRC, the Center had extended the time limit for filing appeals in Foreigner's Courts with the rejection sheets by people excluded 120 days after 60 days and the necessary amendments were made. However, the process was delayed excessively.
