TOP: 'Solvers' gang arrested in Kaushambi, 2 detainees
PRAYAGRAJ: Two members of a gang between districts were arrested while they were exchanging sheets in a strong room of a UP board examination center near Manjhanpur Road on Monday.
Surendra was the center's director and director of work in the Badrikedar area of the district.
Police also confiscated 13 answer sheets that had written answers for several question documents from the UP board. Of these, nine answer sheets were from biology and four from math. The defendants were also caught with two documents containing student numbers.
A case under sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the Law on Prevention of Unfair Media was registered with the Mohhabatpur Painsa police.
The defendants were identified as Surendra Surendra and Satya Narayan Surendra, residents of Sultan Purwari and Simrahata (Fatehpur) respectively.
The station officer (Mohhabatpur Painsa), Yogesh Tiwari, said: “We received a warning that two solvers were planning to exchange answer sheets in the exam room's strong room. A joint team from the crime branch and Mohhabatpur Painsa police cordoned off Manjhanpur Road and then arrested the two. ”
Police said class XII students from other schools also showed up for the UP board exams at Shyam Kishore Intermediate College.
The defendant sought Rs 15,000 for each student in exchange for documents of solved questions.
Police said Surendra had also cornered some members of the school, including an employee to get the answer sheets.
