SYDNEY: The Indian women's team gave a signed shirt to the retired veteran of Sri Lanka Shashikala Siriwardene . Siriwardene will play his last match when Sri Lanka face Bangladesh for its final 2020 Women's T20 World Cup Group match on Monday.
The Indian t-shirt that was given to Siriwardene bore the name of the captain Harmanpreet Kaur and player signatures. I also had a message that said: Thank you for your contribution to women's cricket. You are a legend and a true athlete. Congratulations on your wonderful career and best wishes for all your future efforts.
The 35-year-old Sri Lanka n all-rounder had announced before the start of the tournament that she would be calling time on her 17-year career at the end of it. India beat Sri Lanka n by seven wickets on Saturday to preserve their perfect record in the tournament. They have thus won all four of their group matches.
