BJP workers raise the slogan 'goli maro ...' on the way to the rally of Amit Shah
KOLKATA: A section of BJP workers raised on Sunday the incendiary motto goli maro ... (shoots at traitors) on their way to a rally led by the Union Interior Minister Amit Shah .
The group, which carried party flags, was heard shouting the slogan en route to the land of Shahid Minar.
When he contacted him, a senior Kolkata police officer declined to comment on the incident, but said strict measures will be taken against anyone trying to alter the situation of law and order in the city.
The Interior Minister is on a one-day visit to Kolkata.
There has been a controversy over the increase in such slogans during BJP demonstrations during the Delhi Assembly surveys and protests in favor of the Citizens Amendment Act (CAA) due to accusations that they cause violence.
