Maruti Suzuki sales fall 1% in February to 1.47,110 units
NEW DELHI: the largest car manufacturer in the country Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) reported a 1.1 percent decrease in sales on Sunday to 1.47,110 units in February.
The company had sold 1.48,682 units in February of last year, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement.
Domestic sales fell 1.6 percent to 1.36,849 units last month compared to 1.39,100 units in February 2019, he added.
Sales of mini cars, which include Alto and WagonR, stood at 27,499 units compared to 24,751 units in the same month last year, an increase of 11.1 percent.
Compact segment sales, including models such as Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire, declined 3.9 percent to 69,828 units compared to 72,678 cars in February last year.
Ciaz's mid-size sedan sales totaled 2,544 units compared to 3,084 units in February 2019.
However, sales of utility vehicles, including Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and Ertiga, increased 3.5 percent to 22,604 units compared to 21,834 units in the month of the previous year, MSI said.
Exports in February increased 7.1 percent to 10,261 units compared to 9,582 units in the corresponding month last year, the company said.
