SC's notice to Lalu Prasad Yadav on declaration of bail

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court issued a notice to the chief on Friday Lalu Prasad Yadav in a statement challenging the bond granted by the superior court in one of the.

A bank, composed of the President of the Supreme Court of India, S A Bobde, and Judges B R Gavai and Surya Kant, sought Yadav's response to the statement presented by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The investigation agency challenged the order of July 12, 2019, approved by the superior court of Ranchi, saying that it had erroneously suspended the sentence granted by the court of first instance and released the bail in one of the cases of fodder scam.

The superior court had granted Yadav's bail in case of fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 89.27 lakh from Deoghar's treasury because he had served half of his three and a half year prison sentence.
