The mandate given to the AAP demonstrates the true meaning of nationalism, say the party's prominent faces

NEW DELHI: Euphoric for their overwhelming victory in the Delhi assembly polls and for digging in the BJP that has been at the top of the wave of patriotism, the AAP candidates claimed that the mandate they had been given has proven what true nationalism is.

The people of Delhi have explained the true meaning of nationalism through their mandate, said the prominent face of AAP, Manish Sisodia, while achieving victory.

Sisodia, who retained his seat for the third time, said the BJP surrendered to hate politics, but people refused to divide.

I am happy to have won the Patparganj seat again. The BJP turned to hate politics, but I thank the people of Patparganj. Today, the people of Delhi have chosen a government that works for them and explained the true meaning of nationalism through their mandate, he told reporters.

Sisodia, who was senior vice minister and led the government's education reform agenda, defeated Ravinder Singh Negi of BJP by a margin of more than 3,500 votes.

Raghav Chadha, who replaced the MLA sitting in Rajinder Nagar, defeated Sardar RP Singh of BJP by a margin of more than 20,000 votes.

Mangalwar ko Bajrang Bali and maza chakha diya (Lord Hanuman taught a lesson to BJP on Tuesday), he told reporters.

The citizens of Delhi have shown today that Arvind Kejriwal What he did in the last five years was true nationalism. Delhi voters have shown that Kejriwal is a true patriot. They have given their mandate to the Kejriwal government model. We will serve the people of Delhi more than we did in the last five years, he added.

Atishi, who won from Kalkaji's seat, said that kaam ki rajneeti (labor policy) has won.

It was clear that people of Delhi had made up their minds about Arvind Kejriwal. They voted for him on the basis of his work. It's 'kaam ki rajneeti' which has won over the politics of hatred, Atishi told reporters.

Atishi, who followed the first trends, advanced to victory and defeated Dharambir Singh of BJP by a margin of more than 11,000 votes.

Thanks to all the people of Delhi for trusting @AamAadmiParty and voting for development policy. In the last 5 years we have strived to make the Delhi Government Schools the best in the country and now we will make Kalkaji the best constituency in Delhi! Atishi tweeted.

Both Chadha and Atishi disputed the assembly surveys for the first time. They had unsuccessfully tested the waters in the elections of Lok Sabha last year.

By insinuating the expansion of the Delhi model to other parts of the country, Gopal Rai said that what can happen in Delhi can also expand throughout the country.

The whole country needs a change. I urge my volunteers to prepare. Get ready. What can happen in Delhi can spread throughout the country, he told reporters.

Rai, who was a minister in the previous Arvind Kejriwal -led government, retained the Babarpur constituency by defeating BJP's Naresh Gaur.
