J&K farmers will receive Kisan credit cards before March 31
JAMMU: in the union territory and will receive credit cards (KCC) before March 31 of this year, said the chief secretary B V R.
Subrahmanyam chaired a meeting via video conference to review progress under the KCC scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan), disbursement of aid to affected farmers under SDRF, execution of MGNREGA works and other issues.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress in the registration of beneficiaries.
The process must be completed in a mission mode through sustained momentum to be launched by DC (district collectors) in their respective districts to achieve 100 percent coverage under the scheme before March 31, 2020 so positive he said.
Commissioner Kashmir and Jammu will closely monitor progress to ensure compliance with the objectives on the stipulated date, he added.
He directed DCs to have farmers engaged in poultry farming, fishing and other similar sectors also be included in the KCC scheme.
The scheme can be linked with Aadhaar to eliminate duplication, if any, he added.
The Kashmir division commissioner and deputy commissioners along with representatives of the main bank and other officers attended the meeting.
