We titled Mafia to make sure it doesn't have a local flavor: Karthik Naren
Arun Vijay - Prasanna starrer ‘ Mafia He is preparing for a release on February 21. With the expectation levels of the movie peaking, Karthik Naren shares some of the interesting elements about the movie.
Karthik says, “Mafia is special to me as my film is getting released after a very long time. We wanted to title the film as ‘Mafia’ to ensure that it doesn’t have a local flavor. Usually, while talking about the drugs and gangsters, we instantly relate to North Chennai. But this will have a different premise and we wanted to register it clearly through the title. ”
In getting Arun Vijay on board, Karthik says: “The protagonist of this film demanded a Herculean physicist and, at the same time, who can be an intelligent thinker. In addition, he is such a talented actor, that he can easily display any role with ease. Either a hero or villain , he can pull it off easily with an impeccable performance and that’s the reason behind approaching him for this role. Arun Vijay sir has done a remarkable job and the way he improvises and delivers certain scenes with his unique nuances has added more intensity to his character. He will be seen playing the role of a Anti-Narcotics officer and Priya Bhavani Shankar will appear as your colleague. It will be seen in a different role than it has done so far. When it comes to Prasanna characterization of the Lord, we are looking for someone, who has a built-in aggressive nature, who does not react or erupt, but has an impressive physique and performs the blocks of action well. We find it more appropriate and I can assure you that all these characters will be really exciting to see on the screens. ”
Commenting on whether the film is going to talk about social evil like narcotics, Karthick says: We are not going to discuss what is good and bad, since this issue is still vague. It is an entertaining film with suspense treatment for cats and mice.
