Kolkata's opportunity to witness the best of Japanese films
Film fans in the city will now have the opportunity to enjoy a different experience from February 7. Japan film festival He comes to Kolkata for the first time. JFF will screen around 25 films with English subtitles at PVR Cinemas, Mani Square Mall, Kolkata from February 7 to 16.
The film festival already had an overwhelming response in other cities such as Delhi, Gurugram, Chennai, Guwahati, Bengaluru and Mumbai during the last months and will now close with the Kolkata event. The festival began in Delhi on September 27.
The event is an initiative of Japanese Foundation to promote different genres of Japanese movies which are mostly known for their animation, horror and action themes. Through the film festival, Japanese Foundation is trying to introduce other genres to the audience. The festival will showcase movies ranging from anime, rom-com, drama, action, comedy etc.
Classics like His name, Samurai changers ’, ‘ Getting old with you ’And‘ Shoplifters ’are among other Japanese to be screened. One of the biggest collectors in Japan this year, ‘ Dance with Me ’, It also appears on the calendar.
