Attempts to deceive people in the Union budget: PM Modi

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Tuesday that attempts were made to deceive people in the Union Budget However, even critics now accept that it is the best budget under the prevailing global economic scenario.

Speaking at the BJP parliamentary party meeting, Modi praised Bodo's agreement and the agreement to establish the members of the Bru-Reang tribe in Tripura, describing them as historical successes of his government in this decade.

He will mark the beginning of an era of peace in the northeast that has suffered decades of bloodshed and violence.

Referring to the Union Budget , which was presented by Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday, Modi said attempts were made to mislead people on it.

However, people have now realized that it is a very good budget and even critics have recognized that this is the best budget under the prevailing global economic scenario, he said.

Modi and others congratulated the president of BJP, JP Nadda, who attended the first parliamentary meeting of the party after becoming the head of the party.

Nadda expressed confidence in the BJP's victory in the Delhi Assembly polls on February 8 and added that more than 240 party parliamentarians are spending several days in the poor colonies of the national capital to communicate with voters.
