Directed by actor-director Madhupal, 'Ozhimuri' had the most unique role till date for Asif Ali. I played Sharath Chandran who is the son of Thanupillai, the protagonist of the 2012 movie. Sharath Chandran hates his father and supports his mother's decision of filing a divorce petition against him. Sharath hates his father for being dominating and abusive, however, gradually Sharath realises that although he hates his father, he has developed the characteristic traits of his father. Asif Ali played the character in a note-perfect manner. From his distinct makeover for the movie to his impeccable performance, everything became the talk of the town.
Anuraga Karikkin Vellam
Asif Ali essayed Abhi, a struggling architect in the 2016 movie. The romantic drama told the story of Abhi and his lady love Elizabeth. I've played a normal guy, who has all the flaws of a care free youngster. Abhi didn't care much about his girlfriend, while she was crazily in love with him. The actor performed well and the movie brought in good numbers at the box-office. Ura Anuraga Karikkin Vellam ’is definitely an unmissable movie of Asif.
A person can only give his best when he/she is given the right role. The Parvathy Thiruvothu-starrer ‘ Oops ’ was just that. Asif played the protagonist’s lover Govind in this 2019 film. Govind is a control freak, who is over possessive of his lover Pallavi. The relationship that started during school times blooms into a serious one with time. Although Govind loves Pallavi, he wants her to dance to his tunes. From stopping her from socialising to abusing her in public, Govind will make you hate him. The possessiveness pulls him to an extent where he throws acid on his lady love. Often regarded as the career best performance of Asif, the movie is worth a watch.
Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha
Asif Ali essayed Sleevachan in the 2019 movie. Sleevachan is a small-town guy, a farmer and a gentleman for sure. Women mean either mother or sister to him. Sleevachan is not at all interested in getting married. However, Sleevachan finally agrees to enter wedlock only to find a person who could look after his old mother. He knows nothing about how marriage works or about physical intimacy. Sleevachan learns about sex life from a pervert and ends up messing his sex life and marriage. The actor effortlessly played Sleevachan. One of the best in his career, the movie definitely is another must-watch.
