Kerala government declares coronavirus as state calamity

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On Monday he declared a new epidemic as with a third student who tested positive for the infection in the state.

The state health minister, K K Shailaja, told reporters that the government declared the epidemic a state calamity to take all necessary measures to ensure that the outbreak is effectively controlled.

The decision was made on the main committee of the State Disaster Management Authority chaired by chief secretary Tom Jose.
