Chinese citizens, other nationalities living in China are prohibited from flying to India
NEW DELHI: Chinese citizens and other nationalities living in China have been temporarily banned from flying to India, following the coronavirus epidemic. This ban will take effect on all flights starting Tuesday.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued instructions on Monday regarding electronic visa services for passengers with Chinese passports and other nationalities residing in the People's Republic of China to both India and foreign airlines.
All regular and foreign airlines participating in international air transportation to and from India must ensure the following: Due to current developments, trips to India with electronic visas are temporarily suspended with immediate effect for Chinese passport holders and applicants from other nationalities residing in the People's Republic of China. Holders of electronic visas already issued may also take into account that they have been temporarily suspended and are currently not valid, ”says the order issued by DGCA chief Arun Kumar.
All those who have a compelling reason to visit India can contact the respective embassy of India or the consulates of India, as well as the visa application centers of India. This will apply to all flights departing on Monday after 9:00 p.m. GMT (that is, at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday), ”he adds.
