When 'Golondaaz' is released, Dev mocks fans with a tentative date

Dev Fans are excited about their next, Dhrubo Banerjee ’S‘ Golondaaz ’. The period drama has already become the talk of the town. Dev playing Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari , the forgotten hero who is known to be the father of Indian football, is something to expect, especially after Dhrubo's two consecutive hits with the Guptodhon franchise.

Fans are keeping their fingers crossed about any update from the project and recently Dev dropped a bomb on social media. I've posted two photos sharing the news that ‘Golondaaz’ is finally hitting the floors and the tentative release date in August 14.

The first-look motion poster which came out on the Republic Day, also sent Dev fans into a tizzy. The football-crazy Bengalis now wait for Bengal’s own sports drama.

Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari was the founder of many sports clubs in Kolkata in the 1880s, including the famous Sovabazar Club which, an iconic sports institution of that era.

Beside Dev in the titular role, the film has an ensemble cast including Anirban Bhattacharya , Ishaa Saha Indrashish lightning Srikanta Acharya and John Bhattacharya in fundamental roles.

“I have been trying to rediscover the lost pride in Bengalis. People know about the Bengali renaissance but are not aware of the contribution of this man. I have completely forgotten. My film is not a biopic but a means of creating a movie based on Nagendra and the times. Every Bengali must know about him. The present generation does not know much about Sarbadhikary, how he introduced the game and popularized it among Bengalis. My movie will weave the tale with references from real-life events, ”commenting on his film earlier an excited Dhrubo Banerjee had said.

This film will also mark Dev’s return to SVF after the 2017 blockbuster ‘Amazon Obhijaan’. For years, they have ruled the commercial space of Bengali cinema and now the hit jodi is set to weave magic yet again. Interestingly, Dev has never been part of a football movie.
