The Pratibha Vasantotsav Festival celebrates the guru-shishya parampara
The Kautilya Foundation and the Aamad Dance Center organized the Pratibha Vasantotsav Festival on Saturday at Triveni Kala Sangam. The festival celebrated the budding artist through the guru-shishya parampara and also emphasized the different moods of Vasantotsav. The event spread the message of unity 'Ekta ka Sandesh'.
The night began with a lamp lighting session followed by an inaugural performance by the artists of the Aamad Dance Center who presented the Saraswati stuti. The performance showed Basant Panchami also known as the birthday of Goddess Saraswati.
As the night continued, the audience was hypnotized by the Kathak set of Nisha Kesari. He began his formal training at the young age of seven and was formally initiated in Kathak by his guru, Guru Rani Khanam, who is a renowned exponent of Kathak. The Pratibha Vasantotsav festival was its Rang Manch Pravesh. Nisha started acting with Ardhanarishvara.
Another highlight of the night was a captivating performance by Kathak's exponent, Rekha Mehra, who performed Madhurashtakam. Trained classical dancer, Mehra acquired a unique style and has skillfully mixed Indian mythology with traditional dance style alongside Jaipur and Lucknow Gharana. His performance was a Sanskrit composition in Krishna's devotion.
