First death reported from outside China in the PhilippinesThe first death outside of China was reported on Sunday: a 44-year-old Chinese man who died in the Philippines after traveling there from Wuhan. At least 171 other cases have been reported in Australia, Britain, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Russia, Spain, Thailand, the United States and 14 other countries and regions outside of mainland China.

WHO declares emergency public health outbreak of international concernThe World Health Organization has declared the outbreak as a public health emergency of international concern. Second confirmed case of the virus reported in IndiaOn Sunday, Kerala reported the second case of the country's new coronavirus, with a male student from a university in Wuhan admitted to the hospital of the medical school of Alappuzha positive for the virus. The first case, that of a medical student who is in treatment, was reported in Thrissur on Thursday.
