Mahindra Electric will start exports of EV power trains this year

BENGALURU: will supply electric power trains (EV) to South Korea and European markets starting this year, said its chief executive.

A powertrain comprises the main components that work together to generate the power needed to drive the vehicle. Babu added that the company's proposed R&D center, which will be established on a 14-acre plot of land near Bengaluru airport, is expected to be operational by the end of next year.

Mahindra is investing Rs 400 million rupees in the configuration of the unit that will have a design center and testing laboratories for three critical parts of an electric vehicle, namely battery packs, power electronics and motor assembly . These are integral parts of an electric powertrain.
