Another double gold for the Adarsh Singh pistol shooter
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: junior world champion Adarsh Singh de Haryana lived up to his billing when he got two more gold medals in successive days of National shooting trials (rifle and gun) at the shooting range of the National Games in Vattiyoorkavu in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday.
In the men's and youth 25m rapid fire pistol final (trial 2), Adarsh, who won five medals in world cups, fired 35.0 and 33.0, respectively. On Saturday, Chandigarh, 18, had triumphed at the same events. It is for the second time here that DAV College, a first year student of arts degree, has won Anish Banwala , the former junior world champion.
In the men's category, Anish was second with a score of 33.0 and Ayush Sangwan (25.0) was third to put 1-2-3 for Haryana.
In junior category, Vijayveer Sidhu de Chandigarh (32.0) and Ayush (24.0) were second and third, respectively.
In the men prone to the 50-meter rifles (trails 1), Akhil Sheoran of Railways fired 626.3 to win the gold, while the Asian medalist Chain Singh of the Army (622.7) and Akash Kumar Ravidas of Jharkhand (622.5) were third.

Rishi Gireesh, a native of Palakkad, but studies and trains in New Delhi, raised gold in the junior prone to a 50-meter rifle with a score of 620.8 winner of the Olympic quota Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar (619.5) of Madhya Pradesh and Niraj Kumar of the Navy (619.3) that were second and third, respectively.
