Gold double for Adarsh ​​and Shreya in national shooting trials

Adarsh ​​Singh from Haryana and Shreya Agrawal Madhya Pradesh shot to double the gold in the National Shooting Trials (rifle and pistol) at the National Games Shooting Range in Vattiyoorkavu, Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.

In the 25 m rapid fire pistol (test 1), Adarsh ​​led the men's and youth categories with a score of 31 and 32, respectively, in the final. Adarsh ​​entered the final after finishing sixth in the qualification with a score of 578. Neeraj Kumar (585), junior world champion Anish Bhanwala (582) from Haryana, Thomas George (582) from Kerala, Bhavesh Shekhawat (579) from Rajasthan and Ayush Sangwan (579) from Haryana were the other finalists. Neera (29) and Ayush (23) were second and third.

In the junior final, Ayush (26) and Anish (25) points made 1-2-3 for Haryana.

In a 10 m air rifle (test 2), Shreya went home with the women's and youth titles. Shreya (250.8) surpassed Mehuli Ghosh (250.8) from West Bengal and former World No. 1 Apurvi Chandela (228.4) of Rajasthan was third.

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, of MP, also got his second successive gold when he won the men's 50-meter rifle in 3 positions (tests 2) when he shot 460.5 in the final.

On Friday, Swapnil Kusale and the winner of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games quota, Aishwary, triumphed in the men's and youth categories of the 50-meter 3-position air rifle (test 1). Swapnil shot 458.8 in the final and pushed Chain Singh of the Indian Army, which shot 457.4 to second, while Aishwary (448.0) was third. However, in the junior final, Aishwary shot 458.2 to win the gold. Niraj Kumar of the Indian Navy (451.3) and Sartaj Tiwana of Punjab (440.6) were second and third, respectively.
