SRFI Indian Tour: relentless Pradhan to face Elkabani of Egypt in the final

JAIPUR: living up to expectations, Abhishek Pradhan from India entered the final of the HCL SRFI Indian Tour : Jaipur Leg 2020 on Saturday. Pradhan, who in the second semifinal sent to Iran Navid Maleksabet 12-10, 11-7, 11-6, will have the clash of the title with that of Egypt Ibrahim Elkabani .

In the women's section, it will be all Egyptian business. In the first semifinal, the best seed in Egypt Jana Shiha , current British Open junior champion, kept his record clean by beating Aifa Azman of Malaysia 11-8, 11-7, 10-12, 11-5 to enter the final. While on the other, Salma Eltayeb of Egypt defeated Ooi Kah Yan of Malaysia 12-10, 11-7, 11-9.

Navid was no match for Abhishek since from the beginning, the Indian put his Iranian opponent on the defensive. Except for the first game, where Navid established a small residence, it was Abhishek until the end.

The first semi-final in the men's section between Abhishek Agarwal (India) and Ibrahim Elkabani was a test of endurance and stamina and in the end Elkabani emerged victorious 11-9, 4-11, 4-11,11-6, 11- 9 on the account of better fitness. Elkabbani won the first game 9-11 but in the second and third, Agarwal made a strong comeback wrapping games at 11-4 and 11-4. However, Elkabbani had preserved all his energy for the final two games which he won 6-11, 9-11 to enter final.

In the women's semifinal, Jana had a flying start against Aifa, taking the first game 11-8 and continued the attack involving the second 11-7. In the third game, Aifa defended himself and won 12-10. But Aifa seemed totally exhausted and gave up the last game 11-5 meekly.
