The government allocates Rs 12.3 billion rupees for the Swachh Bharat Mission

NEW DELHI: The Minister of Finance of the Union announced on Saturday that the government has allocated Rs 12.3 billion rupees to present the Union Budget for the year 2020-21, according to an official press release.

Now more needs to be done towards liquids and management. The focus would also be on solid waste collection, source segregation and processing. The total allocation for Swachh Bharat is Rs12.3 billion rupees in 2020-21, the minister said.

He added that the government has pledged to make India open free defecation (ODF) plus to maintain ODF behavior and ensure that no one is left behind.

Live plus The Minister also informed that Rs 3.60 lakh crore have been approved for the Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to provide water supply through pipes to all households.

The Jal Jeevan Mission also emphasizes increasing local water sources, recharging existing sources and promoting water collection and desalination.
