Nirbhaya case: the authorities of Tihar will transfer to the court of the house of Patiala on the date of execution of the convicted
NEW DELHI: authorities will take steps to set the execution date of the four convicted in the case of group rape and murder, officials said Saturday.
In view of the rejection of Vinay Kumar Sharma's petition for mercy by Tihar, the Tihar Jail is approaching the Court of the House of Patiala to set the execution date with respect to the four convicted, said the Director General ( Prison) Sandeep Goel.
On Saturday, Akshay Thakur, one of the convicts, presented a statement of clemency to President Ram Nath Kovind.
Early in the day, the President rejected Sharma's request for mercy.
