Union Budget: Sitharaman ready to present the Budget in Parliament

NEW DELHI: will present the Union Budget 2020-2021, the second Budget of her career as finance minister, in Parliament at 11 am today. Sitharaman along with his team members will also meet with President Ram Nath Kovind before the budget.

The duration of the speech on the budget generally varies from 90 to 120 minutes.

Dressed in a yellow silk sari, Sitharaman continued the tradition he established last year carrying the bahi-khata, which he used to get rid of the briefcase. He was seen holding a red bahi khata.

On the first day of Parliament's budget session, Sitharaman presented on Friday the Economic Survey prior to the 2019-20 budget, which projected the state of the economy and described its challenges. The survey was published by Senior Economic Adviser Krishnamurthy Subramanian.

Live plus According to the 2020 economic survey, which was presented in Parliament on Friday, India's gross domestic product (GDP) is projected to grow at a rate of 6 to 6.5 percent in the next fiscal year 2020-21.

Sitharaman had presented his single budget in July last year, shortly after Narendra Modi's government returned to power at the Center in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
