Barcelona signs the young duo Francisco Trincao and Matheus Fernandes
MADRID: Barcelona has signed two promising young people in Francisco Trincao from Braga and Matheus Fernandes from Palmeiras, the the league Club announced on Friday.
In official statements of the club, Barcelona confirmed that Trincao, 20, will join an agreement worth 31 million euros on July 1 together with Fernandes, 21, for a fee of 7 million euros, more 3 million euros in accessories.
Trincao has signed a five-year contract, which includes a purchase clause of 500 million euros.
In return, Barça will send Abel Ruiz on loan to Braga, who has the mandatory option of buying the 20-year-old forward for 8 million euros in the summer.
There will also be a clause that allows Barcelona to buy Ruiz again in the future.
Fernandes will also sign a five-year contract with the Catalan club, with a purchase clause of 300 million euros.
FC Barcelona and SC Braga have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Francisco Trincao, a statement read.
The young Portuguese striker can play anywhere in front, although he usually shows up on the wing, on any flank despite being left-handed.
Barça described Trincao as fast and technically gifted, with the ability to face defenders with their dribbling skills.
On Fernandes, the club said: Matheus Fernandes stands out for his defensive qualities in midfield and his ability to bring the ball out from the back.
His usual position is as a midfielder of retention due to his excellent abilities to recover the ball.
The director of Barcelona, Guillermo Amor, confirmed on Thursday that the club had finished its search for a striker this month, despite Luis Suarez's knee injury, which probably discards the Uruguayan for the rest of the season.
Barça had been linked with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal and Lautaro Martínez of Inter Milan, while negotiations broke down on an agreement for Rodrigo Moreno of Valencia.
