No extension on the due date to submit GSTR-9, GSTR-9C
NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Indirect and Customs Taxes (CBIC, for its acronym in English) issued on Friday a clarification on a false tweet circulating on social networks about the extension of the last date for the supply of annual return forms of GST for fiscal year 2017-18.
The tweet indicated that the last date to submit the annual declaration form, GSTR-9A and the reconciliation status for fiscal year 2017-18 extended from January 31, 2020 to February 14, 2020.
However, the CBIC clarified that the tweet is false and that there is no extension on the due date for filing statements.
A fake tweet is circulating. There is no extension in the due dates for the GSTR-9 FORM and the GSTR-9C FORM for the 2017-18 fiscal year. Taxpayers are advised to ignore such misinformation, the CBIC said.
