Allahabad: the replica of the Ram temple is a great attraction among the devotees of Magh Mela
ALLAHABAD: The replica of the proposal, which was exhibited at the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) camp in the area, is attracting mass devotees.
According to VHP office officials, at least 1.5 lakh devotees have already seen the replica.
VHP had presented the temple replica at its camp in sector 1 of the Magh Mela compound on January 12, decades after the structure was first exhibited during Kumbh Mela in 1989.
This is the first time that VHP shows the Ram temple model in Magh Mela. Previously, the model was shown only during Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh.
Speaking to TOI, VHP spokesman Ashwani Mishra said: “More than 1.5 lakh devotees/pilgrims have already seen the replica of the Ram temple so far in the current Magh Mela. This is the first time the replica has been set up in Magh Mela.
Visitors are interested in seeing the replica and offering prayers. We will make elaborate arrangements in view of Mauni Amavasya snan when thousands of pilgrims visit the VHP camp, he said.
We have made a special camp for the replica so that more devotees can check it out, he said.
Preetam Das, who came to visit Magh Mela from Jharkhand, said: I could not have a chance to take a look at the replica during Kumbh last year, but this time I visited the camp to see the replica.
Ramanand said: We used to see the model of the Ram temple proposed in Ayodhya in the newspapers, but this time we saw it in the VHP camp.
