Bangalore: Graffiti against CAA in closed store; suo motu police act

BENGALURU: City police have registered a case of suo motu against unidentified men who wrote slogans against the Citizens Amendment Act at the door of a closed shop on Church Street during the early hours of Tuesday. CCTV images of nearby buildings show two men writing the slogans between 3 a.m. and 3.30 a.m.

In the morning, the police painted on the writings. BJP and RSS workers arrived at the site during the afternoon and wrote slogans in support of the law. Again, the police brushed everything.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), Chetan Singh Rathor told TOI: “We have registered a case against unidentified men under the section of the Open Places Law (Prevention of Disfiguration). If necessary, we will add more sections of the Indian Criminal Code, he said.
