SC Collegium reiterates the names of the judges Bose and Bopanna for their submission to the court of first instance
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court College Rejected The Government's Objections And Reiterated Its Recommendation To Raise The Judges And The Court Of First Instance, Observing That Nothing Adverse Has Been Found Regarding Its Competition, Conduct, Integrity.
The College Has Also Recommended Names Of And For The Elevation To The Apex Court.
The Two Collegium Resolutions Were Posted On The Apex Court Website On Thursday.
According To The Website, A Five-Member College Headed By The President Of The Supreme Court Met On Wednesday And Deliberated On The Topic Of The Elevation Of The Four Judges Of The Superior Courts.
In View Of The Above, On The Due Consideration Of All The Aspects Mentioned In The File, Collegium Resolves To Reiterate The Aforementioned Recommendation Of April 12, 2019, Especially Because There Is Nothing Adverse With Respect To The Competence, Conduct Or Integrity Of The Judges Aniruddha Bose And AS Bopanna, Has Been Reported, The College Said In Its May 8 Resolution.
Judge Bose Is The President Of The Supreme Court, While Judge Bopanna Is The President Of The Supreme Court Of Gauhati.
The Judge Is Currently Gavai Judge Superior Court Judge Bombay And Kant Is The Chief Justice Superior Court Of Himachal Pradesh.
Against The Sanctioned Force Of 31 Judges, The Apex Court Is Currently Operating With 27 Judges.
