Ajay Devgn's 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' has a better box office occupation compared to Deepika Padukone's 'Chhapaak'; Read details

Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan & Kajol The long-awaited period drama 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' has launched today along with Deepika Padukone 's' Chhapaak'. While the rumor about both films was equivalent, 'Chhapaak' became the social media talk because Deepika joined the student at JNU to express her support.

Even after the buzz & controversies in which the film was mired in just before its release, the Meghna Gulzar directorial has a fair start of 15-20% with the Delhi & Bangalore being neck to neck with 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior', as per the latest report on Box Office India.

On the other hand, Ajay & Kajol 's film started off well with an occupancy in the 20-25% rage in the morning shows. The film had a very good start in Maharashtra due to its regional appeal but 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' saw lower numbers in the rest of the country.

The report further suggested that it's a reasonable start for a female-led film & the target will be to beat the numbers of films like Alia Bhatt 's 'Raazi' & Kangana Ranaut 's' Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi'. Despite the tax exemption that 'Chhapaak' has in many states, the film's collections would barely adapt to it.

While several B-town celebs coming out & supporting both the films on social media, it'll be a difficult choice for the audience. But according to this report, Ajay's 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' surely has the upper hand over Deepika's 'Chhapaak' in the early occupancy.
