Aurangabad, January 8 () Players and sports enthusiasts will not have to pay for the use of services in the Aurangabad center of the Indian Sports Authority (SAI) onwards, a senior official said here on Wednesday.
The decision in this regard was made by the Union Sports Minister, Kiren Rijiju, and will be implemented in Aurangabad and Mumbai immediately, the SAI regional director, Sushmita Jyotsi, told reporters.
The facilities will now be available for free to everyone between 10 a.m.
The UPS centers used to charge a certain amount for training or renting the center to organize sporting events. Now, no charges will be applied to anyone, Jyotsi said.
When asked about the transfer of the Kabaddi training and gymnastics center in Aurangabad, the official said: There are no such orders, but the government is focusing on medal-oriented games.
Jyotsi also said a new 300-bed hostel has been sanctioned by the SAI center of Aurangabad.
A 300-bed shelter has been approved for the center of Aurangabad and for that purpose, the government sanctioned 30 million rupees, he said and added that 62 lakh rupees have also been sanctioned to improve other amenities.
