BJP received more than 52 lakh calls in support of CAA

NEW DELHI: The BJP received more than 52 lakh calls from people who have extended their support to the Citizenship Law (Amendment), Minister of Interior of the Union Amit Shah He said Monday.

As part of its campaign to mobilize support at the national level for the BJP, a toll-free number was launched for people to give missed calls and extend their support to the newly enacted legislation.

Up to 52.72 lakh calls were received on the toll-free number until 8 pm Monday, Shah told reporters here.

The president of BJP led the 10-day door-to-door campaign on Sunday to spread awareness about the event with the main party leaders reaching people across the country, amid a wave of protests against the controversial law since It was approved in December. .

Shah visited homes here and talked with people about the benefits of the amended citizenship law. He also distributed leaflets on the subject and urged them to read it.
