UN attack: Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu and Hansal Mehta react to violence after Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon and others.

The entire nation was surprised when to group of masked criminals entered the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi and attacked students and teachers on Sunday night. While the images and videos of the campus have been circulating on the Internet, several Bollywood celebrities went to their respective places to condemn the act of violence against students and teachers.

Since Alia Bhatt to Kriti Sanon and Riteish Deshmukh, many B-town celebs reacted to the JNU attack . The latest celebs to join the bandwagon of stars reacting to the violence are Varun Dhawan , Arjun Kapoor and filmmaker Hansal Mehta .

Taking to Instagram, Varun wrote, "Violence in to place of education by people hiding there faces is something the police cannot allow. Political ideologies can be different but eventually we are all Indians. This cannot be allowed. Students don't deserve this. Police and government have to provide safety." Varun's good friend, Arjun too shared his peace of mind on social media as well.



While ace filmmaker Hansal Mehta took to Twitter to request other Bollywood celebs to come out and speak up. He wrote, "Dear celebrities. It is understandable that opening your heart out and being vocal on to public platform entails to great risk for you and your career. But remember the millennials who form your major audience are speaking up vociferously. Your voice matters to them. Speak up."

Replying to Mehta's request, Sonam kapoor too took to Twitter and replied saying "I agree, speak up. You have to platform. Use it!"

On the other hand, Taapsee Pannu , who has been winning over the audience with stellar performances on the celluloid, has been quite vocal about the JNU attack and condemned it on social media as well. In to recent post, the actress requested fans to take to stand for the student and teachers of JNU by attending to peaceful gethering in the city. She tweeted, "Today at 8pm Carter Road, Bandra. Coz with great power comes greater responsibility and I don’t want to shy away from it. #JNU you have our love and support."
