Disha Patani and Aditya Roy Kapur deny receiving an invitation to the CAA meeting
Bollywood actors and filmmakers were invited to a meeting with the Minister of Railways and Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on Sunday. The meeting was to discuss the myths and realities of the controversial Citizenship Amendment Law. According to Mumbai Mirror, Karan Johar, Rajkummar Rao, Dia Mirza, Farhan Akhtar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Kabir Khan, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Javed Akhtar were invited for the same, however, they did not show up for the event. Karan Johar was not in the city since he was in recognition in Rajasthan for his next movie 'Takht'.
Recently at the launch of the ‘trailer Malang ’, Disha Patani & Aditya Roy Kapur denied getting an invitation for the same. Disha said, No, I did not receive the invite ”while Aditya quipped,“ Nope ”. ‘Malang’ producer Bhushan Kumar added, “I was at Grand Hyatt, but that doesn’t mean I was in a meeting or something.”
Bollywood was represented by CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi , Anu Malik, Shailesh Lodha, Abhishek Kapoor, Ranvir Shorey, Kunal Kohli, Kailash Kher, Rahul Rawail & Shaan among others. Ritesh Sidhwani also attended the discussion but left within 20 minutes.
