The Delhi police commissioner must be held accountable for attacks against UN students: Chidambaram

NEW DELHI: Congress demanded on Monday that Commissioner Amulya Patnaik be held accountable for the attacks on a group of students and teachers of the UNJ by a masked mafia, saying that the perpetrators must be identified within 24 hours and brought to justice.

Strongly condemning the attacks, Congress leader P Chidambaram, at a press conference, also said that the money starts with the Delhi Police Commissioner and stops with the Union Interior Minister Amit Shah .

The former Interior Minister described the decline and said he is sure there was intelligence on Sunday's attacks.

Where is the Delhi police commissioner? Why didn't he hurry to go to JNU when the students were attacked and shown on television, he said, adding that Patnaik must be held accountable for the violence.
